Najma Shaikh, the founder of HUM, had a strong belief that educated women would not only contribute to the economy but also issues of population and social evils like the dowry system and child marriage would reduce as more women are educated.

HUM as a team believe that we can make a difference and that it is important to give back to our society. Our beginning was simple and with sincere intentions, to create support structures that would help provide tools like education, shelter, food and hope for children and youth of marginalized communities. Health, education and rights have been our focus areas of work. We pride ourselves in developing one of its kind community developments model like the “Involve Me & I Learn

 
   

HUM Is a non-profit organization, with the vision that one day all the underprivileged girls’ will enjoy privilege of education, skills and character. We believe that a women need to lead empowered lives. A commitment to who we are, what we believe in and what we set out to do is the foundation of this organization.

HUM is the initiative taken by Ms Najma Z. Shaikh, who is the founder Of HUM, 3 years  ago in 2011. Ms Najma was always ready to give a helping hand to people in need. While she was engage in small activities, where she helped women who were going through tough time, she came across many girls at Ambojwadi, Malwani, Malad West, Mumbai. Most of the people here live below poverty line. Girls with special needs were not access to the education, skills and they were looked as unproductive by their parents and communities.

It's than, Ms Najma took a step ahead to take up responsibilities of such girls who were living a miserable life. She bought few girls to her house to take care of them, with all the support from her family.

HUM is a grassroots level NGO, and have taken an initiative of shelter home named as ‘Angelz Hut', Angelz Hut provides shelter, food, clothing and security to every girl child staying there. Its a dream home for all the girls, who are from disputed, broken and marginalised sector. HUM  will give them all the deserving love, care and guardian they need. The kids will be sent to school where, they will enhance their skills. Girls will be given their own space to explore their interest and hobbies. At Angels Hut education will be given importance so that the girls here will be nurtured with discipline and care for their better future.
